⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE

By using MomzVeda, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service. This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

1. Introduction

MomzVeda ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you access or use MomzVeda (the "Service"). This policy applies to all users of the Service, whether accessed via web browser, mobile device, or any other means.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use MomzVeda, you may voluntarily provide information through your chat messages, including but not limited to: messages and conversations with the AI; child profile information you choose to enter (names, ages, notes); "Mom Wins" journal entries; and any other text you input into the Service.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect certain technical information, including: IP address (used for rate limiting and security purposes); browser type and version; device type and operating system; pages visited and features used; session duration and usage patterns; and cookies and similar tracking technologies.

2.3 Information from Third-Party Services

Our AI functionality is provided by third-party AI providers. When you send messages through the Service, your messages are transmitted to these providers for processing. Please refer to Section 6 for more details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes: to provide, operate, and maintain the Service; to generate AI-powered responses to your messages; to improve and personalize your experience; to monitor usage patterns and improve the Service; to enforce our Terms of Service and prevent misuse; to comply with legal obligations; and to protect the safety and security of the Service and its users.

4. Data Storage and Retention

4.1 Chat Data

Chat conversations are processed in real-time and are stored locally on your device during your session. We do not permanently store your chat conversations on our servers after your session ends. However, data transmitted to third-party AI providers may be subject to their own retention policies.

4.2 Child Profiles and Journal Entries

Child profile information and "Mom Wins" journal entries are stored locally on your device using your browser's local storage. This data is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Clearing your browser data will delete this information.

4.3 Analytics Data

Anonymous usage analytics may be retained for a reasonable period to help us improve the Service.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share information in the following limited circumstances: with AI service providers (such as Anthropic) to process your chat messages and generate responses; with hosting and infrastructure providers to operate the Service; if required by law, court order, or governmental request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of MomzVeda, our users, or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to users).

6. Third-Party AI Processing

MomzVeda uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power its conversational features. When you send a message, your text is transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing. This means:

• Your messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses

• Anthropic's own privacy policy and data handling practices apply to this processing

• We recommend reviewing Anthropic's privacy policy for details on how they handle data

• We are not responsible for Anthropic's data practices

Please exercise caution and avoid sharing sensitive personal information (such as full names, addresses, social security numbers, financial information, or medical records) in your chat messages.

7. Sensitive Information — Special Warning

PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THE FOLLOWING THROUGH MOMZVEDA:

• Your child's full name, school, address, or other identifying information

• Medical records, diagnoses, or prescription information

• Financial information (credit cards, bank accounts, social security numbers)

• Passwords or login credentials

• Any information you would not want a third party to access

MomzVeda is not liable for any consequences arising from your decision to share sensitive personal information through the Service.

8. Children's Privacy

MomzVeda is designed exclusively for adult parents, caregivers, and guardians aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). The Service is not directed at children. If you believe a child has used the Service or provided personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information. While parents may enter basic child profile information (first name and age) to personalize AI responses, we encourage parents to use nicknames rather than full legal names.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS/SSL encryption for all data in transit, server-side API key protection, rate limiting to prevent abuse, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. You acknowledge that you provide information at your own risk.

10. Cookies and Tracking

We may use essential cookies necessary for the Service to function properly. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for marketing purposes. We may use anonymous analytics tools to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including: the right to access the personal information we hold about you; the right to request correction of inaccurate information; the right to request deletion of your personal information; the right to restrict or object to processing of your information; the right to data portability; and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@momzveda.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.

12. International Users

If you access the Service from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a different country. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We will take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection.

13. GDPR Compliance (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data based on the following legal bases: your consent; performance of our contract with you (Terms of Service); our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service; and compliance with legal obligations. You have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your member state.

14. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect about you; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
